Atis receives Women in Agribusiness Summit Scholarship

Center for Food Safety student Lordwige Atis has received a Women in Agribusiness Summit scholarship. Held Sept. 21-23 in Minneapolis, the 10th annual Women in Agribusiness Summit “provides an opportunity for learning, sharing and connecting, as (they) help the industry understand the importance of recruiting, retaining and advancing women.”

Atis is a Ph.D. candidate who is studying the molecular detection of Cyclospora cayetanensis in fresh produce and chemical interventions for the parasite. Atis chose to attend the summit virtually due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
