Reynolds selected as Employee of the Year

CFS has selected Jennifer Reynolds as the 2022 Employee of the Year.
Francisco Diez, CFS director, presented Reynolds with the award during a luncheon held to mark the occasion.
He said, “From the moment that she joined CFS, Jennifer started to make a difference. I have had the pleasure to work as her direct supervisor, and I have been able to witness her enthusiasm, quick learning, and her superb journalism skills.”
Reynolds began working for CFS in November of 2020 as a communication professional where she does a variety of work to promote the center such as writing news stories, creating newsletters and updating the website.
She has written several feature stories that have brought media attention to the work done at the center including stories about CFS’s ongoing blue light research, read classifying software created at the center, and the discovery of the MCR-9 gene in Georgia which garnered nearly 500,000,000 impressions globally.
Reynolds has worked as a journalist for over a decade. Prior to joining UGA, she worked for Griffin Daily News, where she received awards from Georgia Press Association for her work both in feature writing and photography.
Diez said, “We were fortunate to find her. After our interview, it was clear that Jennifer was the right person to make CFS look good. Over the past two years, she has been instrumental in making the annual meetings a success and she is already playing a key role in planning for this year’s meeting when will celebrate our 30th anniversary.”
Reynolds thanked her colleagues for the recognition saying, “I enjoy bringing attention to the excellent and hard work that is done at CFS.”
Reynolds is the vice president of public relations for UGA Griffin Toastmasters, and she holds a BA in Literature from Augusta State University.
